Praxis Coaching Academy, founded by Steve Shapiro in 2023, offers leadership coaching to executives.
Praxis Coaching Academy supports Leaders to do more than they originally intended and even thought possible. Leaders set more challenging expectations and achieve greater outcomes. Leaders pay attention to their own and in turn their team’s individual needs and personal development thereby helping them achieve their own leadership potential. This success is experienced by:
Leaders sharpen the inner vision, while manifesting needed results. These results appear in a space of deep listening in partnership with the Coach.
At Praxis Coaching Leaders gain insight into the inner and outer games that are being played. The Outer Leadership game focuses on the organizational system, its rhythms and management processes. The Inner Leadership game focuses on leadership competencies and behaviors. Leaders learn and become aware when they integrate their inner and outer worlds there is greater wholeness and ultimately a feeling of peace.
Praxis introduces and works with Leaders around the distinction of problem vs. polarity. A problem is typically seen as a question or a problem that needs to be solved through the lens of either/or. We explore the polarities surrounding a problem by seeing a situation in which two interdependent and seemingly contradictory states must be maintained for success over time – both/and.
Leaders move through stages of personal and professional growth as they script a powerful narrative for themselves. This may center around values such as love, generosity, and empathy. In doing so old negative patterns dissipate.
We recognize that Leaders are in different stages of development. The Coach can work with the Leader in identifying the demands and complexity of the mind and the heart being brought on by the organization’s demands. The Coach works with the Leader to explore the domain of human experience and explore the identities that have assisted them in becoming a leader. The coach may also explore how this same identity might get in the way of their growth as a leader.
The Leader learns which of their Values is core and use it as a guide for them in their work. Coaches also work with Perspective by having the Leader identify someone who they may not see eye to eye with and have them find a hero perspective around that individual and see how it will change the relationship.
Leaders become proficient in using micro-affirmations to empower and lift the workforce.
We also use an organizational systems lens. Praxis and the Leader will practice between the polarities of candor and diplomacy – this will include paying attention to what the Leaders are doing to support their goal and what they are not doing.
